About Bowldle

Bowldle is a free daily bowling game. Every day there is one new lane, the same for everyone, and you get one game of ten frames to post your best score.

What Bowldle is

Bowldle takes the idea behind daily word games and puts it on a bowling lane. Instead of guessing a word, you read the lane and bowl it. Everyone in the world bowls the same lane on the same day, so your score means something: you can compare it with your friends, your league and every other player who bowled that lane.

A game takes a few minutes. You line up, set your hook and roll, frame by frame, with real ten-pin scoring: strikes, spares, splits and a tenth frame with bonus balls. When you finish, you can share your result as a row of squares without giving away the lane, and challenge friends to beat your score.

How each lane works

Real bowling lanes are oiled, and the oil pattern decides how much a ball hooks. Bowldle gives every daily lane its own pattern. Some days are a long, heavy pattern that keeps the ball straight; others are short and dry, and the ball hooks early. A lane can also drift to one side on the back end. Reading the lane and adjusting your line is the whole game, just as it is at a real bowling center.

The pins and ball are simulated with real physics, so a light hit on the pocket, a heavy hit, or a ball that slides through the head pin all leave different pins standing. Each lane also has a daily challenge, such as a strike on the first ball of the tenth frame, for players who want an extra goal.

Streaks, badges and leagues

Bowl the daily lane every day to build a streak, and earn badges for things like a turkey, a clean game or a 200 game. You can start a league with friends or coworkers and see everyone's daily scores, weekly table and all-time standings. Practice mode lets you bowl as many extra games as you like on random lanes.

Free to play

Bowldle is free in any web browser, on phones, tablets and computers, with no download and no account needed. Your progress is saved on your device, and you can optionally save your streak with your email to bring it to any device. Bowldle is supported by ads and by Bowldle Pro, an optional one-time upgrade that removes ads and adds past lanes, extra balls and practice options. Pro never changes the daily lane, so every score stays fair.

Who makes it

Bowldle is an independent game, built from scratch and updated often. Many of its features, from leagues to the phone controls, came from players' suggestions. You can also play Bowldle on Reddit in r/Bowldle, where the daily lane is posted every day.
